Aatmanirbhar Bharat Utsav at Abhay Prashal Hall, Indore, Madhya Pradesh from 01st to 08th December 2024
Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 6: Ministry of Textiles, Government of India is organising “Aatmanirbhar Bharat Utsav” by National Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (NHDC) at Abhay Prashal Hall, 10/1, Indore Table Tennis Trust, Race Course Road, Indore, Madhya Pradesh from 01st December to 08th December 2024. National Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (NHDC) is organising the handloom exhibition under the aegis of the O/o DC(Handlooms) Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The handloom and Handicraft sector is a symbol of our country’s rich and varied cultural heritage, besides being one of the key sectors providing employment to a large number of people, especially women.
The event is focusing on the glorious tradition of Tribal Handloom and Handicrafts. It will also provide market connect to the handloom weavers and artisans.
The highlights of the event are as follows: –
- 120 stalls for Handloom weavers and Handicraft artisans to directly retail the products. (Total 15 states representing Handloom & Handicrafts)
- 96 Handloom (14 states representing)
- 24 Handicrafts (06 states representing)
- Theme display of exquisite tribal handloom and handicrafts of India
The Handloom and Handicrafts sector is a symbol of our country’s rich and varied cultural heritage. The handloom sector of India employs 35 lakh persons directly or indirectly, which is next only to the agricultural sector in the country. The art of handloom weavingand Handicrafts have traditional values attached to it and each region has exquisite varieties. The uniqueness of products such as Tribal Wear, Moirang Phee, Mekhla Chador, Jamdani,Kosa Saree, Ikkat, Maheshwari, Baluchari, Tangaliya, Banarasi Saree, Madhubani Painting, Kalamkari Saree, Art Metal Ware, Hand Block Printing, Chikankari, Wall Hanging, Terracotta, Imitation Jewellery, etc to name a few attracts customers across the globe with exclusives weaves, designs, and traditional motifs.
Government of India has launched the various schemes for Handloom for branding of high-quality products with zero defects and zero effect on the environment to encourage and to give a distinct identity to the products, apart from highlighting the uniqueness of the products. It also serves as a guarantee for the buyer that the product being purchased is genuinely handcrafted. All the exhibitors at the exhibition have been encouraged to display their exquisite products and thus aim to improve the market for Handloom products and earnings of the handloom community.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 11 am to 8 pm up to 08th December 2024. Handloom and Handicrafts products drawn from some of the exotic locations of India are on display and sale at the exhibition.
