Mountaineer Kamal Kaur Gains Greece Trifecta at the Spartan World Championship
Heads to Everest base camp with World’s Highest OCR for an obstacle course race followed by a marathon down, early this month
New Delhi/Greece, November 12: It seems an unstoppable journey for Mountaineer Kamal Kaur in the coming months. After gaining her 13th Trifecta at the Spartan Trifecta World Championships, held at Sparta Greece, the Mecca of Spartan, she will head to Everest base camp. This will be her return back to the Himalayan mountain range since her successful summit of Mount Everest back in 2019.
Since Madrid, Kamal has completed Trifecta nine in the U.K. for the European Championships. Trifecta ten was in Australia, Trifecta eleven & twelve were in Malta, bringing her home to the grounds of Sparta for number 13 where she was honoured with a shield.
Founded in 2010 by CEO Joe De Sena, Spartan is the world’s largest obstacle race and endurance brand. Beyond engaging more than 7 million participants in the more than 300 race events, the Spartan lifestyle spans more than 45 countries and encompasses a global championship series, training and nutrition programs, health and wellness products and a range of media entities.
In a recent announcement made by Indian based Life Coach and Mountaineer Kamal Kaur said “I am very delighted to gain this shield in Greece representing India. This idea & challenge didn’t come into play until June of this year. This meant the clock was ticking and my worldwide trifecta chase had begun. After all the hard work, planning and funding to make this happen, my focus has now shifted to Everest Basecamp where I will try to gain more Guinness world records on top of the 7 which I have already.”
This next challenge will gain a unique Guinness World Record Breaking hybrid event bringing together Mountain, High Altitude, Trekking, Obstacle Course Racing, Adventure Racing and Distance Running that has never been attempted before in the Himalayas.
